This project is all about remembering what can happen when one man's ideas take over a nation. What caused the people and the soldiers of Germany to take Hitler's orders without question? Was it that they were afraid themselves? Or, was it that they agreed with Hitler and his extermination of a whole race of people? Only the German's know. But, there is no doubt that the feeling of superiority that Hitler gave the German people was an initial factor in their following him to disaster.
Hitler made himself an emperor whose fallibility was never questioned and whose insane requests were tolerated by the masses because it was unpopular or dangerous to raise any suspicion. I hope the pictures of the holocaust will remind people that we always must use our freedoms guaranteed in our constitution to question, to ask, and to argue and defend our freedom and our national safety.
Patriotism is not silent.
